Looks-
They both come with a plastic body and plastic stand for table mounts. They are sturdy and have a slim bezel design. All connectivity options are given on one side of the back. It has HDMI, USB, and optical ports. Both 43-inch and 50-inch TVs have normal HDMI ports but the 55 and 65-inch models of X74K have 1 HDMI eARC port. They have Bluetooth 5.0 and dual-band Wifi support. All in all the looks with Sony’s subtle branding looks awesome.
They both come with 8 bit FRC IPS DLED panel. But their brightness is way different. The 43-inch model has 360 nits peak HDR brightness and the 55-inch model has 470 nits peak HDR brightness. Small screens have fewer LEDs and hence lesser brightness. A big screen means more backlight LEDs and hence more brightness with more details and a sharper image.
Video-
Both TVs support HDR10 and HLG. The color optimization is amazing. They come with 4K X1 Processor, X Reality Pro, and Live Color technology. These are Sony’s own technology and work very well. Watch our video to see how these techniques work.
Why do people buy Sony TV even when it is more expensive than Samsung or LG?
It is because of the difference in the HDR performance of Sony TVs and other budget TVs. Sony spends years working on colors and their tuning and that is why its colors are amazing.
Performance testings- Sony X74K vs X75K
We tested the HDR performance on Amazon Prime and it was awesome. The colors were close to the natural color profile. There is no shortage of vividness in colors. Even the minutest details can be seen in HDR content. The colors are natural and they outstand among the crowd. Both of these TVs don’t support Dolby Vision but still, we tested it.
As a result, we didn’t find any shortage of details in the Dolby Vision content. Details were quite extensively shown and this is what makes a TV a good TV. The shadows, details, and colors are quite accurate. Sony has provided Live color technology which produces amazing colors.
Since it is an IPS panel, there is no issue with viewing angles. At max, there will be only 10% color and brightness on extreme sides. In fact, up to 60°, there will be absolutely no color and brightness loss. This IPS panel is amazing with even brightness. Just ignore the Frame dimming feature as it is not a feature that has a huge impact on its performance.
Contrast Enhancer/ Blacks- Sony X74K vs X75K
An IPS panel comes with less contrast ratio. And in order to increase it, Sony has used dynamic contrast enhancers. It improves the performance of blacks. They don’t produce the deepest blacks as VA panels, but they perform well due to the presence of contrast enhancer technology. No matter where you use these TVs; in a bright or dark room; they perform excellently.

MotionFlow XR- Sony X74K vs X75K
The primary and sole difference between Sony X74K and Sony X75K, the best TV under 50000 is-
1. Sony X75K comes with MotionFlow XR200.
2. Sony X74K comes with MotionFlow XR100.
Technically Motionflow XR200 should better control motion blur but in reality, they perform the same. Motion blur is controlled but there is no significant change in both XR200 and XR100. Even in the windmill test, they both performed equally well. Both technologies are almost the same and work well.
Grey Uniformity- Sony X74K vs X75K
We checked their grey uniformity at 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, and 100% and the results were satisfactory. We would score them 9/10. These are budget TVs and by moving towards the premium segment, the grey uniformity will enhance further.
Software/OS-
They both come with Android 10 out of the box, built-in Chromecast, and a familiar Google OS design. All the tiles including favorite tiles suggested content tikes etc will be there. Sony has given more than 5000 apps. More apps can be downloaded from Playstore.
Storage-
It has 16 GB of storage. The free usable storage is approx 9 GB.
Cast-
These TVs support Alexa, Google Assistance, and Apple Airplay and you can cast your phones in them.
Upscaling-
Upscaling of 720p content is amazing. 1080p content is also brilliantly upscaled. The 4K content played via USB is fantastic. You can’t get the support of Dolby Vision or HDR on the content played via USB. Their upscaling of SD channels is the best among the other budget-range TVs. Upscaling the HD content is mind-blowing.

Audio- Sony X74K vs X75K
They both come with 20W full-range open baffle speakers. They cover all ranges- lower, middle, and high frequencies.
The audio quality of 43 inches is very good but if 55 inches is slightly better. The box of 55 inches is bigger and hence the audio quality is also slightly better. However, it is not a cinematic quality. A good soundbar is a must for cinematic quality. You can get direct Dolby Atmos decoding from the 55-inch X74K model.
