1. Style of the Samsung Crystal 4K Pro TVs
Looks:
While unboxing the Samsung Crystal 4K Pro TVs range, the style we encountered was identical, with a similar build and appearance. Whether it’s the Vivid, Vivid Pro, or Vision Pro, each TV model boasts a sleek design with exceptionally thin bezels, thereby providing you with more screen space.
Front:
The device boasts a generous 1.08-meter screen, offering an immersive viewing experience with its stunning 4K resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels. Powered by the advanced Crystal Processor 4K, it ensures sharp, vibrant visuals and seamless performance, enhancing every detail of your favorite content.
Sides:
When viewed from the side, the Samsung Crystal 4K Pro TVs’ slim external sides offer an alluring and elegant appearance. This design not only enhances its aesthetic appeal but also adds a touch of sophistication to any living space.
Stands:
The Samsung Crystal 4K Pro TVs come with Flat Feet black colour stands. The size of the stands is 67.49 cm x 19.1 cm, which implies they are pretty sturdy and can accommodate the Samsung Vivid Pro 50 inch TVs easily. With stands, the set size of the television will be 967.5 x 609.7 x 191 mm, providing you with an optimum angle for viewing.
Remote Control:
The remote control is different in the Samsung Crystal Vivid UHD TV and Samsung Crystal Pro 4K TVs. However, both remote controls come with the following hotkeys including- Netflix, Disney Hotstar, Prime Video and Samsung TV Plus. Lets see the differences between the two:
Voice Remote | Solar Charging | |
---|---|---|
Vivid | N/A | N/A |
Vivid Pro/ Vision Pro | Available | Available |
Wall Mount:
If you decide that you want to put either of the Samsung Crystal 4K Pro TVs on the wall, the installation crew will provide you with a mount. It is certain that you will have everything you need for a seamless setup process, whether you prefer to mount the TV on wall or place it on a stand.

2. Panel Included in the Samsung Crystal 4K Pro TVs
Type of the Panel:
The Samsung Crystal 4K Pro TVs are now obtainable with two types of panels. For the first time, Samsung has introduced an IPS and VA Panel in this range, regardless of whether you buy the Vivid, Vivid Pro, or Vision Pro models. So what is the catch? Who gets VA and who gets the IPS panel? Let’s find out!
Brightness:
During the review of Samsung Crystal 4K Pro TVs, no matter what size you choose, the peak HDR of approximately 240 nits has been consistently achieved.
3. Contrast of the Samsung Crystal 4K Pro TVs
Contrast Ratios:
We had high expectations for the contrast of the VA panel and were not let down in the slightest. The VA and IPS panels usually have differences in contrast ratios. Therefore;
There is not much of a difference in contrast, but how blacks are perceived on these TVs is worth reflecting on.
Blacks:
The Blacks of Samsung Crystal 4K Pro TVs are magnificent and clear. The VA panel truly delivers when it comes to displaying deep, rich blacks that enhance the overall viewing experience.
The same goes for the IPS panel, even if the contrast ratio is lower at 800:1. The blacks are still displayed beautifully and add depth to the picture quality.
That said, the IPS panels employed in these Samsung panels are high-quality. Even though the Samsung Crystal 4K Pro TVs contrast ratio are less, the level of contrast and the depth in the Blacks is satisfactory.
“Compared to the VA panel, we found the Samsung Crystal 4K Pro TV’s IPS display to be more appealing. You must find it strange that panels from the same brand can be compared. However, that is a fact. You’ll be able to experience and observe rich blacks because there are several variations of blacks, so you’ll get more details and rich blacks out of this. You will get to experience the same in the VA panel of 43 inches and 50 inches of the Samsung Crystal 4K Pro TVs, but it will be much less than the IPS panel; just keep that in mind.”
The reason for receiving rich, detailed blacks is Mega Contrast Ultra HD Dimming, a Samsung feature used in every Samsung Crystal 4K Pro TV. But a point to note is that you can’t compare it with Micro or Local Dimming; they sound the same because it’s a software feature that artificially enhances the colour of the TV. At the end of the day, you are getting results that are still impressive and visually appealing.
4. Colours and Saturations
Colour Gamut:
During the evaluation of the Samsung Crystal 4K Pro TVs, the colour gamut was 99% sRGB upon testing, but that is not important. For us, even the 81% sRGB colour gamut is fine. Now, If you look closely at the colour graph, you will see that all three colours, red, green, and blue, are oversaturated.
Depth:
Both the Samsung Crystal UHD and the Samsung Crystal QLED TVs produce deep colours, enhancing the overall viewing experience. Whether you’re watching movies, playing games, or streaming your favourite shows, these Samsung Crystal TVs ensure a high-quality, visually captivating experience with their rich, deep colours.
Colour Saturation:
We observe the green and red to be more oversaturated, which is a startling contrast to the model from the previous year, where the blue was more oversaturated and the panels appeared unnaturally luminous. It was purely an optical illusion of the Samsung TV model from 2023, which was updated this year. This year’s Samsung Crystal 4K Pro TVs are distinguished from their predecessors by a fully redesigned panel.
Although the blue optimisation may trick your eyes, the over-optimisation of red and green won’t feel unpleasant. All of these colours will appear somewhat vibrant and punchy.
“One thing to note is that this is not an inherent colour profile; you can adjust it to your preference, though doing so is not advised. What you can do is change the preset modes and enjoy the different colour profiles. There is also a Filmmaker mode on the Samsung Crystal 4K Pro TVs, which attempts to provide you with a movie theatre experience. While this mode is good, it is not the best choice for regular viewing.”
5. Picture Quality
Dynamic Range:
Overall, in terms of the picture quality of the Samsung Crystal 4K Pro TVs, it’s pleasing due to the dynamic range. The dynamic range of these TVs is quite vast, enabling them to display a wide spectrum of tones and shades. This results in deep, inky blacks and bright, vivid highlights that enhance the viewing experience. Additionally, the Samsung Crystal 4K Pro TVs excel in showing rich and vibrant colours across various formats.
Viewing Angles:
Again, that is pretty evident because IPS panels are known for their stellar viewing angles
compared to VA panels. You will notice a roughly 10% reduction in colour and brightness in this, even on the extreme edges.
Motion Blur:
In terms of motion blur, there is no significant progress in comparison to the prior year models. If you watch any sport—cricket, for example—you will notice that the ball appears a little fuzzy and not as sharp as you would expect. Whether you employ a motion accelerator that acts as a MEMC in Samsung TVs or not, it won’t give you a great deal of satisfaction. And the main explanation for that is that this TV is in the budget range, although Samsung has attempted to enhance this through software, which we are unable to attribute to being very successful.
Banding:
We saw a faint amount of banding in the small sizes—43 inches and 50 inches—of the Samsung Crystal 4K Pro TVs. However, in the bigger sizes—55 inches, 65 inches, or above—of the Samsung Crystal 4K Pro TVs, there was absolutely no banding to be seen.
Thus, why do the Samsung Crystal 4K Pro TVs exhibit banding in their small sizes? One reason for this is that these are budget range TVs. This is not the best panel as compared to other Samsung TVs, however, if you look at the price point, it is really good.
6. Software & Hardware
Operating System:
Although the Tizen OS is always included with Samsung TVs, all Samsung TVs models of 2024 are going to feature this most recent version.
This time, you will get a completely different and dedicated section for live channels. With this new feature, which improves the user experience. You can choose the live channels straight from the OS home screen. Now, you can use the JIO Cinema app in addition to receiving all of the OTT apps pre-downloaded on Tizen OS. Plus, Hotstar offers 4K picture quality, which is a great addition for those looking for high-quality streaming options.
Connectivity Inputs:
Regarding connectivity inputs, you will find two HDMI ports of 2.1 and one HDMI (eARC); however, there is just one USB port, as it was previously. Moreover, you get the support of Bluetooth 5.2 and dual band wi-fi in the Samsung Crystal 4K Pro TVs , ensuring seamless connectivity for all your devices. Therefore, the connectivity in the 2024 Samsung TV models from the prior year remains unchanged.
7. HDR: Supported Formats, Prime Video, Netflix, Hotstar
Supported Formats:
The Samsung Crystal 4K Pro TVs offer the best possible support for HLG, HDR 10+, and HDR 10. As with every other Samsung TV, Dolby Vision functionality is not available for you to enjoy. But after playing all of the HDR 10+, HDR 10, HLG, and Dolby Vision content, the outcomes were quite satisfactory.
Prime Video- HDR10+:
These Samsung Crystal 4K Pro TVs support Prime Video, Hotstar, and Netflix, which play the content in 4K resolution, depending on the package you have. Because of the excellent details, we really liked the HDR 10+ content.
Hotstar- HDR10:
As I told you, the smaller sizes of Samsung Crystal TVs i.e 43- and 50-inch sizes, will also exhibit some banding in extremely rich content. In HDR 10, the content viewed was somewhat disappointing since these are budget-range TVs that may not provide the best quality for this specific format.
Netflix- Dolby Vision:
We encountered no significant problems while assessing the Netflix Dolby Vision content; all of those are reproduced in the HDR content, which is excellent since we can watch and observe crisp, vibrant details in those vibrant colours. Yes, however, they are a little oversaturated and not at all natural.
But all in all, the performance of Netflix, Prime Video, and Hotstar on this TV was satisfactory, providing a decent viewing experience for the price point.
8. SDR: STB Content and Upscaling
STB & Upscaling:
We encountered no issues or glitches when the STB (Set Top Box) played the video on the Samsung Crystal 4K Pro TVs. Similarly, we did not encounter any lag or pixelation when watching news programmes on the SD channels or when watching other types of content on the HD channels.
With these TVs’ strong upscaling capabilities, you can expect excellent HD channel picture quality as well as very good SD channel quality, which makes for a seamless viewing experience across all types of content. Additionally, the STB’s compatibility with the Samsung Crystal 4K Pro TVs ensures that users can enjoy a smooth and high-quality viewing experience without any interruptions.
“On a side note, all other affordable TVs have equivalent upscaling capabilities, and Samsung TVs are no exception.”
9. GAMING: Features, Inputs, and PS5 Demo
Gaming Feature:
Interestingly, now in the Samsung Crystal 4K Pro TVs, you will get the ALLM, i.e., Auto Low Latency Mode, along with the HGIG support for an enhanced gaming experience. All of this is advantageous since you can enjoy the benefits of HDR gaming if you intend to play games.
Additionally, we didn’t experience any lag when playing our favourite game on the Samsung Crystal 4K Pro TVs. With the one 2.1 HDMI (eARC) port, you will get very low input lag if you connect your PS5 to it. With the HGIG support, it would be somewhere around 10 milliseconds; it can be plus or minus 3–4 milliseconds. This makes it an ideal choice for avid gamers seeking for a smooth gaming experience.
“Overall, we are very satisfied with the casual gaming experience with the Samsung Crystal 4K Vivid TV rather than the Samsung Crystal 4K Vivid Pro TV.”
9. SOUND: Supported Audio Formats and Special features
Audio Format:
In the Samsung Crystal 4K Vivid Pro TVs, you’ll receive 20W down firing speakers, which sound average.
“The Samsung Crystal 4K Vivid Pro TVs can virtually link to a Symphony Q-Soundbar, allowing you to hear audio from both the soundbar and the TV speakers. This function will not function as intended if you own any other Samsung soundbars or soundbars; it only applies to the Symphony Q-Soundbar.”
Overall, the audio quality is mediocre; before choosing, listen to it to see if it lives up to your expectations.
