best chimney for kitchen in india: Chimneys are an essential element of all modern kitchens but are modern chimneys only essential for the suction of air? Well! Before buying a chimney one must know about the suction capacity and the filters used in a chimney. You must know whether it is auto clean or not, about its installation, and its appropriate distance from the cooktop. To know about services is another significant thing.
Watch Our Video:
1. Size:
No chimney is best or worst. A 60cm chimney is good for three burners. For 4-5 burners, a 90cm chimney is apt. The ideal duct size for all chimneys is between 8-12 ft. The distance between the chimney and the cooktop should be 24-30 inches.
2. Types of chimneys:
There are two types of chimneys- A baffle filter and a Filterless. In the baffle filter, there are 1 or 2 filters (sometimes with auto cleantech). Filterless chimneys have mandatory auto cleantech.
2.1 Baffle filter In the baffle filter, the panel retains the oil, and the air moves ahead. This filter must be cleaned in 3-4 weeks. A baffle filter is good for people who use more oil. Cons of Baffle filter- if not cleaned regularly, the motor (exposed) can choke or it might catch fire. It requires periodic cleaning. 2.2 Filterless Filterless chimneys have sealed motors to protect them from oil or residue. The air passes out directly. Oil in the chamber melts after turning on the heating coil. Later it gets collected in an oil collector tray which can be cleaned. Continuous cleaning of the outer grill facilitates better suction. |
3. Additional charges:
1. ₹500-₹1K for installation
2. ₹2K-₹3K for installation kit.
Do add this additional ₹3K to the total cost of the chimney.
4. Can a chimney be installed without ducting?:
The answer is yes. A chimney can be installed with or without ducting. With ducting, all the air will pass out of the kitchen directly. Without ducting, the chimney will suck and throw the air out inside the kitchen only. Then you need an exhaust or a fan to throw that air out of the kitchen. Ducting is advisable.
5. Suction Capacity:
A good chimney is dependent on how good its suction capacity is to eliminate the smoke, steam, heat, smells, and airborne droplets of grease that are a by-product of cooking; If you do Low-Oil cooking, then you need up to 1000 m³/hr, suction capacity but if you cook deep-fries then capacity should be at least 1200 m³/hr
6. After-Sale Services:
You must check after-sales services, and this is what we did. For all the products we will mention, we called their service centres. We mentioned five different places and complained about five different problems. Based on their feedback, we rated their services.
7. Extended warranty:
An extended warranty (not insurance) is advisable. We recommend Go Warranty which can be bought from anywhere. Buy it from wherever you get it cheapest.

Pros and cons – best kitchen chimney in india 2022
It is a good chimney with an amazing 1400c³/hr suction capacity. The two baffle filters are good. Periodic cleaning can save you from annual cleaning charges. Overall it is good with amazing auto cleantech. Con- its motion sensor is a bit flimsy. Almost all brands provide motion sensors. These sensors fluctuate the speed by sensing the motion of your hand. However, these sensors are not long-lasting, and they are flimsy. This may or may not be a con, as almost all chimneys have these sensors. But don’t rely on them. The physical or touch buttons are more convenient. This is one of the best baffle filter chimneys.

The suction and built quality are good, but there are two cons- it’s 180W motor generates 1500c³/hr suction capacity. A low-powered motor working at total capacity produces more noise. Otherwise, it is a suitable chimney. Elica gas 2 baffle filters whereas it has 1.
