Buying Guidelines – best ceiling fans for home
1. CMM & RPM You often see these CMM & RPM terms in fans. CMM means Cubic Meter Per Minute i.e the air delivery per minute. RMP is Rotation Per Minute i.e the speed of the fan. 2. More power=More electricity More wattage is equal to more electricity consumption (more power=more electricity usage). A 75W fan consumes Rs90 on half speed and Rs 180 electricity on full speed which averages to Rs 135 electricity per month. 3. Motor 100% copper motor comes with the best heat transfer rate & is more durable. Aluminum windings are not that good. 4. BLDC BLDC is quite popular but what is BLDC? The brushless DC motor is more power-efficient than the AC motor. 5. Aerodynamic 90% of people confuse aerodynamic noise with fans’ noise. Aerodynamic noise is the noise of air & not of the motor. More Aerodynamics means lesser noise. There is no fan with 0 Aerodynamics. 6. Dust-free fans Brands promise dust-free fans but that is impossible. This is a marketing gimmick. However, the dust will be lesser. |
